Third Party Predictions- E3 2019

I´ve earlier talked about what the first party developed and published games will be like. But the truth is that most games that get announced will come from third party developers that won´t hold their own conferences. The reason why I´m not talking about the likes of Call of Duty is because we know we´re getting one, we know the name, we know the setting. And it is a annual game after all. And while I feel like the next COD will be a great game, I want to focus on games that have the possibility to blow us away just by being revealed or shown.
The popular kid on that block lately have been Cyberpunk 2077. The next big game from the developers of The Witcher game series, CD Projekt Red. The game have already been revealed and showed off to the public. And certain people in the game journalism line of work have also seen extended gameplay behind closed doors. This tells me that the development of the game is going forward at a great pace. However, I don't think it will be released in 2019. CDPR want to build up the the surrounding this game even more. Instead I think the game will be released in the summer of 2020. Usually big titles get released in the fall season, but CD do their own thing always. And the summer release window is not as packed as the fall one. Makes sense to me.
Another huge title that have been announced at an earlier stage is Borderlands 3. Meaning the popular franchise is back with a new installment that is supposed to continue on the journey of our legendary Vault Hunters. I think Gearbox will make the most of the situation and give us a lot to work with. I´m talking about new gameplay, more story elements, and of course some over the top jokes that will divide the people hearing them. Is it funny or provocative? As so many other jokes I guess huh?
One big rumor that's going around town is that there are a new game from the developers behind Dark Souls and Bloodborne, From Software. This time they´ve apparently gotten George R.R Martin (if you don't know who this is, I take it as proof that you´ve been living under a rock for a couple of years). And even though I´m not a fan of their games, go ahead and hate me I guess but I don´t play video games to get destroyed for hours, but even I have to recognise the amount of influence these developers have had on the gaming industry, they have pretty much created a new genre of games. With Martin as a part of the team the game will be even more dark and gritty with a new fantasy universe.
Rocksteady Studios have officially declared that their new game is moving forward but won't be ready to get announced this weekend. This really bums me out honestly, they are a very talented team over there. But one company that should have quite a few games to announce is THQ Nordic, just a few days ago they announced Darksiders Genesis, Destroy All Humans remastered and SpongeBob SquarePants Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated. And we know they are working on more games, about 40 if the rumors have any truth to them… So give it to us!
Some people think we will see the next installment in one of the best selling video game franchises ever, Grand Theft Auto. GTA V have been in every single best selling list since it got released on that is absolute bonkers to me. And while everyone and their mother understand that GTA VI is being worked on, I think it's to early for them to announce it. The development behind Red Dead Redemption 2 has been huge and I'm certain we will get to see more content for RDR2 before we ever get to see GTA VI. I predict we will get a PC release and new story content. That would be crazy!
As my last prediction I present: Harry Potter RPG is alive and ready to get announced. This caused a buzz on the internet last year when it was leaked by a video from a person that should have seen the game in development. And honestly the video looked very very real to me. Which would make a lot of sense on its own since Harry Potter is still a huge name, but it lacks a really great game. A mobile game was released last year but was shot down by fans as it was a boring money grabbing machine more than a game. But just think about it, a proper deep RPG in the Harry Potter universe. That would be a blast! And we know Warner Brothers are working on many projects, so why not? I sure hope this turns out to be true
These are the biggest third party titles I think we´ll get to see, what do you think? Let me know down in the comments!
